FAQ

Q: How do I join?
A: At least one host must be present, and all six players must agree before the start that it’s a ranked game. Once these conditions are met, you can join a ranked game.

Q: How can I identify the Hosts?
A: Hosts will be marked on our Discord server (link on the next page).

Q: What if my teammates are lower skilled than me? Doesn’t that hurt my ranking?
A: While having lower-skilled players on your team might affect your win rate in the short term, over time, the randomness will even out as you play more games. The more games you play, the more accurately your rank will reflect your true skill level.

Q: What if I keep getting unlucky matchups?
A: The more games you play, the less this will affect your ranking. Luck balances out over time.

Q: Where can I view my rank?
A: To avoid discouraging lower-skilled players, only the Top 10 rankings will be publicly displayed on our website's Hall of Fame. If you’re not in the Top 10, ask a host for your exact data (wins, losses, win-loss ratio, and rank).

Q: What if I can’t play Desert Strike for a while? Will I lose my rank?
A: Yes, to maintain an active rank, you need to play at least 10 ranked games every 3 months. If you don’t meet this requirement, your rank will become inactive and disappear from the rankings. However, your data will not be lost. If you play 10 new games, your rank will be reactivated, and all your previous data will still be counted. This system ensures that high-ranked players can’t maintain their position indefinitely without continued participation.

Q: Is there a ranking for 1v1 or 2v2?
A: Currently, only 3v3 ranked games are supported. However, if there is enough demand, we may introduce rankings for 1v1 and 2v2 in the future.
